Library & Computers Catalogue for our Books, Maps, CDs and Fiche
Last update September 2024.
Search our Library & Computer Catalogue in the following table or on any computer in our Library.
This database is an online search of our library holdings. This will search an index of the books, maps, CDs and Fiche. It does not search within the actual items. While best viewed on a computer screen because of the table’s width, the catalogue has display functionality for mobiles and tablets. Further tips for searching the catalogue are listed below the table.
Members can view and often borrow to take home many items in the catalogue. Non-members can organise to view these holdings in our rooms. Check the Events Calendar for opening hours. For queries please make a request through our Contact Us form. Some small costs may apply to non-members.
Tips for the Library & Computers Catalogue
This catalogue will search our Library and Computer index of books, maps, CDs and fiche.
- Searching on a mobile device? Click the item to see more information.
- It is a keyword search of the thousands of words in this catalogue. For example, you can search for a name or a place, or an author or a country, or a term such as shipping or convict.
- Enter one or more search words in the search field. You can enter whole words, parts of a word or multiple words to generate your results.
- To search within one or more columns rather than the whole catalogue tick the required columns in the dropdown to the right of the search box.
- Click the small arrows on the right-hand side of the column headings to SORT individual columns. The SORT arrow appears when you hover over the column heading with your mouse.
- To return to the whole catalogue just remove your old searches by clicking the X to the right of the search box.
- It is best to view the catalogue on a computer screen because of the width of the table, but mobiles and tablets can be used. With larger screens, increase the width of your browser window size to see more details. To fit the table onto the smaller screens of a mobile or tablet some columns will be hidden but by clicking the plus sign you will be able to view the details for an individual record or row.
