Why should you attend interest groups?
Our family history interest groups will help you advance your family history research. There is a number of different groups that cover a range of topics: Germany, Scotland, England & Wales, Ireland, DNA, Family Tree Maker, FamilySearch, Writing your family history and Resources.
At the monthly meetings, you learn and share knowledge about your topic of interest. Members help each other break down brick walls, learn about great places to search and how to use popular websites for researching your topic.
Meetings can be a hybrid meeting available to meet up in the Rooms and via Zoom or a rooms-only or Zoom-only meeting.

The Interest Groups:
Check the event calendar for any updates and variations in the meeting times.
Family Tree Maker: Meets 1st Tuesday of the month from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Zoom meeting only.

Germany: Meets the 1st Thursday of the month from 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm, hybrid meeting.

Scotland: Meets the 2nd Thursday of the month from 12.00 pm to 2.00 pm, hybrid meeting.

Ireland: Meets the 2nd Thursday of the month from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm after the Scotland Interest Group Meeting, a hybrid meeting.

DNA: Meets the next Friday after the monthly General Meeting from 10.00 am to 11.00 am. Zoom meeting only.

England / Wales: Meets 4th Thursday of the month from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm, hybrid meeting.

Resources: The Resources Interest Group meets on the 4th Monday of the month from 7 pm to 8 pm on Zoom. This is to accommodate Fran while she is away from the Sunshine Coast. We will discuss resources available in the rooms and Fran will also run training sessions on using MyHeritage.

FamilySearch: Meets the 3rd Monday of the month from 10.00 am to Noon, hybrid meeting.

Writing: Meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 9.30 am to 11.30 am, the same day as the General Meeting in the afternoon. Meets in the rooms only with no Zoom session.
