When a family historian says she has searched “everywhere” but still cannot break through a stubborn brick wall, what does “everywhere” really mean? That’s the question our May speaker, Michelle Patient, also known as The Patient Genie, will explore during our Members’ meeting on Zoom. In her presentation, “Where is Everywhere?”, Michelle will share practical strategies to help ensure you really have looked in all the right places.
About Michelle Patient: With a background in chemistry, geology, and family history, Michelle Patient brings a strong passion for research and data.
Inspired by her grandmother, she developed a lifelong interest in genealogy. Her research spans British Isles ancestry, early Australian military and convicts, New Zealand and Australian early colonists, through to post-WWII British Royal Naval Support, where she has uncovered complex family stories such as adoptions, disputes, and long-hidden secrets.
Through her experience and skills in DNA analysis, Michelle has broken through many genealogical brick walls and is one of the DNA consultants behind the Australian SBS TV series Every Family has a Secret. She is an active volunteer, regularly speaks at global genealogy events and is a contractor at Ancestry ProGenealogists and along with many other past and present family history roles.
This Members’ Meeting will be held on 18 June 2026 from 1.30 pm to 4.00 pm. Although the presentation will be delivered via Zoom, members are encouraged to gather at the Caloundra Family History Rooms at Corbould Park, where it will be shown on a large screen, and you can easily take part in the discussion.
