Look forward to a rollercoaster ride with our talk in February with member Ann Knight. It will be all about her genealogy and DNA ups and downs. Learn from Ann’s several years of experience.
More help with your DNA
Ann Knight (member since 2019) has several years of experience using DNA to help with genealogy research and is giving ongoing free one-to-one help at the rooms on Thursdays, from 9.30 to mid-afternoon. Ann can help you work out which test you want to take, and how to interpret and use the results as they come in, from absolute beginners upwards. She is familiar with AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA, LivingDNA, 23andMe and has lots of tips to help beginners. Usually, each session is no more than 2 hours so it helps if we can pre-arrange to meet at the rooms. If you can’t make Thursdays due to other commitments Ann may be able to arrange to meet you on another day elsewhere, or occasionally Saturday mornings. Ideally, you need to bring your own laptop. Ann’s contact details are on the member’s list in the members-only area.
Meetings
Monthly meetings commence at 1.30 pm on the third Thursday with a guest speaker followed by a short break when tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. The meeting then resumes with the general business of the group.
Visitors are always welcome to attend any meeting with a view to joining the group. Disabled access to the meeting room is available.
Speakers
One of the very popular features of our monthly meetings is the visiting speaker.
We are always looking for new and interesting speakers. If you have a story to share or know of a speaker who would be able to visit our rooms to share their story or their research, please contact us.
Not a member and interested in attending?
