Interest Groups meet monthly to discuss websites, publications, and member discoveries related to family history research in England & Wales, Ireland, Scotland, and Germany. Alongside the geographic-based interest groups, we have DNA, Family Tree Maker Software, FamilySearch and Writing Interest Groups. You might even get help overcoming brick walls. FREE for members.
Why should you attend interest groups?
Our family history interest groups will help you advance your family history research. Several different groups cover a range of topics: Germany, Scotland, England & Wales, Ireland, DNA, Family Tree Maker, FamilySearch, and Writing your family history.
At the monthly meetings, you learn and share knowledge about your topic of interest. Members help each other break down brick walls, learn about great places to search and how to use popular websites to research your areas of interest.
Meetings may be held in one of three formats: hybrid (in-room and via Zoom), in-room only, or Zoom only.

The Interest Groups:

Family Tree Maker: Meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Zoom meeting only.

Germany: Meets on the 1st Thursday of the month from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm, hybrid meeting.

DNA: Meets on the 2nd Monday, 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm. Zoom meeting only.

Scotland: Meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 12.00 pm to 2.00 pm, hybrid meeting.

Ireland: Meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm after the Scotland Interest Group Meeting, a hybrid meeting.

FamilySearch: Meetson the 3rd Monday of the month from 10.00 am to Noon, hybrid meeting.

Writing: Meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 9.30 am to 11.30 am, the same day as the General or Members’ Meeting in the afternoon. Meets in the rooms only with no Zoom session.
