This is a joint event between the Queensland section of the National Trust for the Heritage Festival 2023 and Caloundra Family History Research Inc. Caloundra Family History is committed to sharing this amazing historical landscape and local family stories with the Sunshine Coast Community.

Free parking at Cooma Terrace Car Park and at 14 Ormuz Avenue, Caloundra is available for both the Bulcock Street and Bulcock Beach tours.

There is a choice of 4 dates in April and May with the Bulcock Street Guided Tour starting at the Corner of Canberra Terrace and Bulcock Street, Caloundra, QLD, 4551.

About the Bulcock Street Guided Tours

Bulcock Street Guided Tour shares stories about Caloundra’s past and its history that dates from the late 1800s to the mid-1900s as you walk along Bulcock Street. Caloundra’s extraordinary growth in the 148 years, since Robert Bulcock Snr. in 1875, bought land in Caloundra, has seen landscape change involving its people and their stories.

What stories does the main street of Caloundra, Bulcock Street tell? Who gave Caloundra its name and what stories can be told about Caloundra’s First Nation Peoples, who were the First European settlers and why was Caloundra important in World War II? As you walk down Bulcock Street, stories will be told about Robert Bulcock, his family and the history of those early buildings, dating from the early 1900s.

Caloundra Family History Guided Tour will bring Caloundra’s past stories to life. Meet the guided walking tour at the corner of Canberra Tce & Bulcock Street, then a 500-metre stroll down to Felicity Park. In an hour your guide will tell you interesting stories about people and places and answer questions. What a wonderful way to get to know this beautiful town. You are invited to share your story about early Caloundra.

There is a choice of 4 dates in April and May with the Bulcock Beach Guided Tour by meeting the guided walking tour at 4 Tay Avenue in front of La Promenade Apartments, Caloundra QLD 4551.

About the Bulcock Beach Guided Tour

On the Bulcock Beach Guided Tour, you will see the fantastic historical landscape of Bulcock Beach as we share stories of Caloundra’s people and past. You will discover Caloundra’s history from the late 1800s to the mid-1900s and its extraordinary growth in the 148 years. All, since 1875 when Robert Bulcock Snr. bought land at Happy Valley in Caloundra.

As we stand near the corner of Tay Avenue and the Esplanade, Bulcock Beach, you will be astounded by the changes you see today and the shared stories told of the past. Caloundra Family History Guided Tour of Bulcock Beach looks forward to sharing with you a history dating from the late 1800s to the mid-1900s.

This Esplanade has many stories and we welcome you to join us. After meeting up there is a  stroll along the Esplanade to Happy Valley car park. In under an hour, your guide will tell you interesting stories about people and places and answer your questions. What a wonderful way to get to know this beautiful beach town. You are invited to share your story about early Caloundra.
