Covid-19 rooms access update

A letter from June Blackburn, President, about the latest decisions related to managing Covid-19 at Caloundra Family History was distributed by email on 10 January 2022. In summary, General Meetings for January and February will be held by Zoom only. Research at the rooms is available, with restrictions. For full details read a copy of the email following:

Hello Members,

I am truly sorry to have to inform you that we will not be opening our rooms for general meetings to be held in January and February 2022.  The high number of Covid-19 cases is too much of a worry and the last thing we want to do is expose our members to this virus.  So both meetings will be totally on Zoom.

If anyone has a problem logging into Zoom, let me know and I will try to help you.  Alternatively, if you live near another member and you are both happy to do this, then perhaps you could join together at one house to go on to Zoom.

At the present time, our rooms will remain open for research.  However, numbers will be restricted.  There will only be 2 people in the Library (Library Volunteers), 1 person in the computer room and 3 will be allowed in the meeting room but spaced as far apart as possible.  You MUST book a computer before arriving.  I would suggest you contact Loris Gray to do this.  Each person will be allocated a time slot of 1.5 hours.  If no one has booked the slot after you, then you can stay longer.  Everyone will have to wear a mask at all times.

As advised in Policy 11, no one who has not received two vaccinations will be permitted entry to the rooms.  Library Volunteers will tick your name off when you arrive after they check that you are fully vaccinated.  If you don’t agree with these precautions, that is your prerogative.  However, no abuse of our members will be tolerated.  Please sanitise your hands regularly and disinfect all the places you touch before leaving.

All Interest Groups will continue to operate on Zoom.  And I sincerely thank the Coordinators for the wonderful job they do.

Thank you for your co-operation.  Any changes will be sent to you as soon as they are made.

Kind Regards
June Blackburn
President
