CAROL ROLNICK – PROFESSIONAL GENETIC GENEALOGIST This month Carol Rolnick will be zooming in from the USA for our DNA Interest Group Meeting.

Carol Isbister Rolnick is a professional genetic genealogist and leading researcher in the genetic genealogy community.  She specialises in the use of DNA to identify biological family, solve violent crimes and identify John/Jane Does. Since 2014, Carol has helped hundreds of adoptees and others of unknown parentage to find their biological family. Since 2018, she has aided in the successful identification of dozens of suspects in violent crimes (both cold cases and active investigations), as well as unidentified human remains, for law enforcement agencies across the US and Canada.

In 2015, Carol was part of the team that solved the widely publicised abandoned child case of Paul Fronczak who later published his story in a highly acclaimed book, “The Foundling”.

Bitten by the genealogy bug from an early age, she discovered an even greater passion for genetic genealogy beginning in the very early days of testing. The field satisfies her love of science, big data and an insatiable desire to help solve mysteries.

The DNA Interest Group coordinator is Sue Brownjohn.

Normally the DNA Interest Group meets the next Friday after the monthly General Meeting at 10:00 am to 11:00 am. See above for the meeting time this month.

If you have any questions about joining this group then Contact Us with “DNA Interest Group” in the subject and Sue BJ will contact you. Or leave a message on the Caloundra Family History Facebook Page.

As part of a CFH membership, interest groups are where members can come together and help each other with their family history. Each group has a coordinator, this volunteer member being the contact person for the group.  Like any attendee at any interest group meeting, the contact person is not an ‘expert’ on the subject in question, just another member of that group, helping fellow members. The DNA Interest Group welcomes new attendees.

Check your membership emails for Zoom details. If you need help with Zoom contact Ralph or Fran. Contact details in the members-only area.
