Closure of rooms and events owing to the COVID-19 Virus outbreak

The library will close at 12 noon on Friday 20 March until the end of June. This closure will be reviewed mid-June.

The committee knows this will be a source of great disappointment for many however staying healthy and safe is far more important. Our activities are really non-essential.

During this break from normal activities, it could be a good time to:

  • spend time reviewing your research;
  • check your sources;
  • put entries into your FTM (or other software) program;
  • sort photos and add captions;
  • sort out your family history files either online or in hard copy or both;
  • research and write a story (or two) for the Lorrie Barzdo Writers’ Award;
  • research something you’ve always wondered about;
  • read the books you never had time for;
  • declutter your cupboards;
  • research your next holiday;
  • and there’re 101 other things to do !!

The following currently does not apply while the rooms are closed because of COVID-19 Virus restrictions.

Our library contains many resources to assist you in your research. Please come and visit us.

Our rooms are open for research from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm most Saturdays. The exception being the extended hours every third Saturday.

Note: Some Saturdays may be cancelled and changed to an alternative date if a race meeting is scheduled. Please recheck the calendar closer to the date to confirm the rooms are open for research.
