Why should you attend interest groups?
Our family history interest groups will help you advance your family history research. Several different groups cover a range of topics: Germany, Scotland, England & Wales, Ireland, DNA, Family Tree Maker, FamilySearch or Resources Interest Groups. At the monthly meetings, you learn and share knowledge about your topic of interest. Members help each other break down brick walls, learn about great places to search and how to use popular websites for researching your topic.
Check out the details below for when each group generally meets with the links to the future planned dates of the next few meetings of that group.
Most meetings are hybrid, via Zoom or in-person, at the rooms. Family Tree Maker is Zoom only. Writing and Resources meetings are in the rooms only. The Resources Interest Group is held in the rooms with no Zoom session as locally available resources are key to the groups’ discussions.
The Interest Groups’ Times:
Family Tree Maker: Meets the 1st Wednesday of the month from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm.
Zoom only.
Family Tree Maker Group Meetings.
Germany: Meets the 1st Thursday of the month from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm.
Hybrid: in the rooms and Zoom.
Germany Interest Group meetings.
Scotland: Meets the 2nd Thursday of the month from 12 noon to 2.00 pm.
Hybrid: in the rooms and Zoom.
Scotland Interest Group meetings.
Ireland: Meets the 2nd Thursday of the month from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm after the Scotland Interest Group Meeting.
Hybrid: in the rooms and Zoom.
Ireland Interest Group meetings.
DNA: Meets the next Friday after the monthly General Meeting from 10 to noon.
Hybrid: in the rooms and Zoom.
DNA Interest Group meetings.
England / Wales: Meets 4th Thursday of the month from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm.
Hybrid: in the rooms and Zoom.
England & Wales Interest Group meetings.
FamilySearch: Meets the 3rd Monday of the month from 10.00 am to Noon.
Hybrid: in the rooms and Zoom.
FamilySearch Interest Group meetings.
Resources: Meets the next Saturday after the monthly General Meeting from 12 Noon to 2.00 pm.
Rooms only, no Zoom.
Resources Interest Group meetings.
Writing: Meets Interest Group meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 9.30 am to 11.30 am, the same day as the General Meeting in the afternoon.
