This takes you to a page where you can reset your password. Enter the email address that is used for your Caloundra Family History Membership. Click the Reset Password button.

Figure 3

If you entered a valid email address recognised by CFH, an email with a new password will automatically be sent to this email address. The website confirms that a new password has been sent to the email address. See figure 4

Figure 4

When registered users reset their password they get an email with a new password. Remember to check your Junk emails if you cannot find the email in your inbox. See Figure 5.

Figure 5

The new password is randomly created by the website. It is deliberately complicated so that it is not easily guessed by others or robots. Once successfully logged in you can edit this password in the profile section to a different password of your choice.

Find the profile section near the log-in areas. Click the word Profile.

Basic Warning

For your safety create complex passwords or passphrases. Avoid birthdays, common words and using the same password for multiple websites. If you require passwords for multiple locations a password manager will create and manage strong passwords as needed.

If you’ve signed in on a public computer or shared device, remember to sign out when you’re done.

The option to set up Two-Factor Authentication or two-step verification is now available or even necessary to securely access sections of many websites. As of 2024, Ancestry® requires a stronger layer of security to access ThruLines® or AncestryDNA® matches, and you must use two-step verification or sign in with Apple or Google.  Find more details on the Ancestry Site.
