  1. Good afternoon, I am trying to contact Paul Seto. I am presently researching the history of my family, Robert Cran, his siblings and children who emigrated from Scotland in 1849 to Queensland and were important pioneers in the Sugar industry, particularly at Maryborough and Bundaberg through Yengarie and Millaquin refineries. I am presently researching their unfortunate involvement in the “black birding” of South Sea Islanders including part ownership of the labour schooners “Janus” and “Roderick Dhu”. My research has come across a couple of references dated 2019 that Paul Seto, following an SBS program on Mal Meniga was conducting research into the voyages of the “Roderick Dhu” and it’s involvement in the labour recruitment. The purpose of my enquiry is to ascertain if Paul carried out the research and whether I could share information with him. I note he is a member of your group. Many thanks. John Grose.

    1. Hi John, I have forwarded your comment and email address to Paul. Then Paul can contact you if he wishes to follow up further with you. Regards Fran, Webmaster.
